The Purpose
OUR GOAL IN THE FAMILY ASSESSMENT
IS TO ENSURE THAT EACH FAMILY MEMBER
FEELS SEEN, HEARD, AND UNDERSTOOD
The Clinical Family Assessment is designed to explore the intricate dynamics of the family system. Families come to us when they’re uncertain about the next steps to take and are seeking greater understanding of their patterns and behaviors. This process helps them gain insight into their family dynamics before embarking on their collective and individual healing journeys.
Our goal during the family assessment is to ensure that every family member feels seen, heard, and understood. We create an environment where they can prepare to engage with the clinical recommendations outlined in our final Family Treatment Proposal.

The Process
EACH FAMILY MEMBER HAS THE OPPORTUNITY
TO SHARE THEIR HOPES FOR BOTH THE FAMILY’S FUTURE
AS WELL AS THEIR OWN
Slate Clinical Collective conducts in-person meetings with eligible families once preliminary clinical evaluations have been completed. This visit provides a chance for meaningful human connection as the family begins their path toward growth and awareness. During the meetings, communication patterns are observed, individual needs are discussed, and trust is built. It’s a time for family members to openly express their challenges within the family system and share their hopes for both the future of the family and their own personal journeys.
The Family Assessment is also valuable for families considering an intervention for their loved one. It provides clarity and understanding, which are crucial for ensuring a successful outcome.
"Other things may change us, but we start and end with the family." – Anthony Brandt
