Lisa Coyro lmft

Lisa Coyro is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, professional interventionist, and clinical case manager with over two decades of experience in the mental health and addiction treatment fields. She earned her Bachelor of Arts from Sonoma State University and a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University. Lisa provides therapeutic intervention services, clinical consultation, and case management on both a national and international level.

Lisa’s clinical versatility stems from her broad experience, having worked in private practice, renowned addiction treatment programs, and the criminal justice system. Lisa has extensive experience with substance use disorders, young adults struggling to transition into the next phase of their lives, and individuals living with chronic psychotic disorders. She believes in a direct and empathetic approach that tailors clinical services to both the client and the entire family system.

In 2016, Lisa chose to focus exclusively on facilitating interventions and providing clinical case management to clients and their families. She is trained in both the Johnson and Invitational Models of intervention, bringing a clinical expertise that allows her to approach each intervention with both compassion and a therapeutic lens.

Before becoming an LMFT, Lisa spent a decade in the non-profit treatment sector, where she managed a transitional housing program for post-incarcerated men and trans women living with HIV/AIDS. She then worked in the LA County Jail system, providing case management, counseling, and alternative-sentencing advocacy. Lisa also assessed and counseled felony offenders, applying CASOMB-derived risk assessment tools in collaboration with the Department of Justice, California State Parole, and Los Angeles County Probation.

In addition to her professional work, Lisa served as a volunteer member of the L.A. City Crisis Response Team (CRT), working alongside the LAPD and Fire Department to assist survivors and family members at the scenes of homicides, suicides, and multi-casualty incidents. This volunteer experience was incredibly meaningful to Lisa and continues to inspire her commitment to giving back to her community.

Lisa’s extensive experience enables her to balance clinical expertise with empathetic insight, making her an invaluable asset to the families she serves.
